Do you use water at your house? Did you ever stop to think about which room of your house you use the most water in? Pick one room of your house where water is used. (Probably not your bedroom!!) Keep track of how many times water is used in one hour in that room. Then tell us which room you picked, how many times water was used, and how many people are in your family!!
Dear Future Martians,
Your final weeks on Earth are approaching. It is time to make the final decisions about your Mars Base Camp. Complete the "Surviving on Mars" week 1 activity. (Its in your homework folder!) Then decide what your family will name your rover. Next, choose your three crops. (They should match the crops you choose on your survival sheet!) Post your information in the comments. Then, respond to someone else's comment with some positive feedback! Sincerely, Mission Control Don't you just LOVE space? I think about how large space is and am amazed that Earth is such a small part. We have talked about the mission to Mars. Would you ever like to change your place? Would you ever move to Mars? Leave your comments below to let us know whether or not you would venture beyond Earth's atmosphere!!!
This is the website we checked out in class today: https://www.nasa.gov/audience/forkids/kidsclub/flash/index.html This week we are learning about different types of buildings and what they are made of. First, talk to your family about the materials your house is made out of: brick, cinder block, stucco? Do you have a tile, shingle, or metal roof? Do you have any solar panels? Next, find out how OLD your house is - when was it built? Post the information about your house below so we can use it on writing!
Hi friends! Our projects are due in 14 days!! How are you doing? Hopefully, you've chosen a topic and started some research! Maybe you've finished your PowerPoint . . . .OR your project is FINISHED!!!! Let me know below. Then, give us 3 clues about the object or material you will be teaching us about! Comment on a friend's clues by trying to guess their topic!
This week we are talking about MOTION - movement!! Take this challenge: can you think of activities that YOU DO that fall into these categories?
FAST SLOW ROUND AND ROUND Record your answers in the comments. Find one person who has a similar movement to yours and comment on their post!!! This week we learned about the differences between a city and the country. The cities we read about all had tall buildings, lots of people, and houses that were close together. The country did not have any big buildings, very few shops, and houses that were spread out. So . . . . . how do we classify Lakeland and Mulberry? Take a survey: ask the people who live in your house if they think they live in a city or in the country. Record their answers and your own below.
This week we looked at pictures of Florida taken by satellites to determine if there was more city or country in our state. We were also able to search for specific places on the map. Go to Google Maps and type in your address. Use the "Street View" option to view your house. Does it look the same right now as it looks in the picture? What has changed? What is still the same? Share your answers in the comments below!
